Germany as a shipping hub
Germany’s shipping sector operates in a global market characterized by fierce competition. This is why it is important to have a regulatory framework available for shipping companies operating from Germany which is stable and competitive – not only compared to leading Asian shipping hubs, such as Singapore or Hong Kong / China. Indeed, this also holds true in comparison to neighbouring European shipping hubs, which in some cases offer more effective and compatible framework conditions to their shipping companies.
In order to be able to be a leader in the global competition and an attractive shipping hub for the years to come, Germany must continue to offer a competitive and stable regulatory environment be able to operate competitively over the long term at an international level.
